Up and Monster Children, in association with BIGSOUND, are offering emerging Australian artists and bands the chance to win a $20,000 cash prize to support touring, recording and the next chapter of their career. Five finalists will perform at the Up x Monster Children Showcase during BIGSOUND 2026 in Brisbane (1–4 September), with one artist taking home the $20,000 grand prize.

The Freedman Fellowship is a prestigious, career-defining opportunity that recognises and supports the next generation of leading jazz musicians. Awarded annually, the fellowship provides $30,000 to support the recipient while they undertake a major creative project. Applications are welcomed from artists under the age of 35, working in the field of jazz.

| The Prelude Program 💃🏽

The Prelude Program supports Australian composers by offering them long-term residencies in properties owned by either private trusts or National Trusts around the country. Residents live rent-free for 11 months and receive a stipend to help with living costs. Australian composers in all musical genres and practices are encouraged to apply.

Music Works provides grants to support Victorian contemporary music artists, music workers, and music businesses and organisations to undertake creative and professional development projects that strengthen careers, build businesses and grow Victoria's contemporary music industry. There are Activation Grants (fixed) of $5,000, and Projects Grants worth $10,000-$40,000, supporting a broad range of activities including; songwriting and recording, touring and live performance, marketing and audience development, and professional development.
