Botanic Gardens of Sydney
Two Australian writers will be chosen to create new works inspired by the Gardens. They will have behind-the-scenes access to the institution’s unique sites, staff, collections, and world-leading science facilities during a three-month residency in 2026. Each writer will receive a $15,000 stipend to support the residency.

The Steph Bowe Prize for Young Writers
The Steph Bowe Prize for Young Writers is designed to encourage and support an unpublished Australian writer of young adult fiction under 25. The winner will receive $1000, a 20-hour mentorship with an award-winning YA author, and a professional development package. Shortlistees will each receive the professional development package.

Hot Desk Fellowships
The Wheeler Centre's Hot Desk Fellowships provide emerging writers with a space to build a creative community and inspire their process. The Wheeler Centre will offer 22 writers a fellowship, including a stipend of $1250 and a dedicated workspace in the building over a ten-week period. Fellows have the opportunity to meet, network and work with The Wheeler Centre’s resident organisations.
